When it feels like the worst time of the year
For those of us who are usually fully booked, a season that adds so much can feel… well, extra extra. Too many tasks, too many feelings, too many expectations. Even the moments that are supposed to be meaningful can start to feel like items on a long list.

When my daughter was young, one of our most reliable Thanksgiving traditions was me crying from exhaustion before the meal was done.
If that rings true for you, maybe this year we can try a different kind of tradition — a gentler one — using the Start Here three-step approach.
This season, we can practice:
SOOTHE — When we feel our shoulders tightening or our voice getting sharp, we pause and take a long drink of water. A simple reset for a stressed nervous system.
TRANSCEND — We stay quiet for one extra breath. We look at the faces around us and remember (very gently) that tomorrow isn’t promised, and yet here we are together, today.
MOVE — We choose one thing that matters to us for this day — love, presence, or simply delight in a perfect fruit mince pie. One thing, not all the things. (And maybe we ask for help with the rest.)
If you have questions about navigating this busy season, just hit reply and send them to me.
Warmly,
Kerry
